Revival. (lots of photos!)

Hello strangers. Finally I have gotten a little inspiration to blog once again. It has been months, sad by true. I have missed reading all of your beautiful blogs & posting myself. How have you all been? After posting here, I am going to catch up on some of my favourites. Of course, I have been following Lou on facebook.. and because I am on there more than here, I think I will start following all of your facebook pages/stores too!

So, to keep you up to speed on Lauramay's homemade life.. alot has changed & happened.. so here goes..
  • I am in a new reception job, which I love & have been there for a month now. It's a maternity leave position, so when Rochelle (the pregnant girl) leaves, I will be full time, which will be in May.
  • Speaking of pregnancy, my sister is now 26 weeks along in her pregnancy. She is going so well & looking beautiful.
  • Also, my lovely friend, Sarahjane, had a baby boy this morning & named him Brodie Stephen. So happy & proud of her.. she now has 3 gorgeous children.
  • Zane & I have now been married 4 months.. and it has absolutely flown by!
  • In the next month or two, we will be moving. Not sure where we are going yet, but I cannot wait to start afresh in a new place. It's always fun to decorate a new house.
  • And, last but not least, Kitty turned 1 in January. My little girl is growing up.
On the home front, I have actually picked up some lovely pieces recently. On eBay, from people giving them away & even on the side of the road. I am the perpetual searcher. When I go driving somewhere, I admit, I'm always searching for treasures. Here are a few examples of my wonderful finds..

This one I found in front of a house in my neighbourhood, just needs sanding, re-staining, rewiring & a new shade.. (see below).

The lampshade was a garage sale leftover too.. can't wait to recover it & add it to the rest of the lamp.

A beautiful eBay find. Everything is in perfect condition.. cushion just needs recovering.

This didn't get sold at my mum's neighbours garage sale & she knew I had my eye on it. Rather than the asking price ($80), she gave it to me, no charge. Just needs a new mirror!

This was also found on the side of the road, perfect condition, just needs a new roof & to be painted.

Haha, Kitty wanted her photo taken too.

In keeping with the spirit of photo posting, here are some photos of our summer. And what a hot one it was.

Norah Head lighthouse on a perfect summer day.

Our nephews were over from Perth, so we did a little sight-seeing.

The long stairs down to the beach.

Zane and I at the beach.

My beautiful family.. husband & baby.

Anyway, I think that's all for now. I hope you've enjoyed this post & I look forward to catching up on all your wonderful blogs!!

wonderful world

Hello loves. This is a little bit delayed, I meant to post last night but I was beat! A very long & eventful weekend. And of course I have some stories and photos of my trappings (lucky girl!). On Saturday I travelled up to Newcastle to go birthday shopping with my mum.. it was a bit of a miserable day, weather wise, but we made the most of it. First we went to this great op-shop in Glendale and I scored a collapsible shoe rack for $5 & this gorgeous thing for $10.

As you can see, it has a gold bow at the back & a little plume of feathers.

Everyone else seemed to have the same idea though, because it was mayhem! We had tea & scones for morning tea & then did some hardcore shopping. Mum was super generous & bought me a pair of skinny leg jeans, 2 pairs of black tights (which are currently in the wash) and these little puppies..

Not great photos, sorry. I had a pair pretty identical to these when I was little.

Then after coming home & having a long bath and a nap (yes, a nap) I got ready and I went out for dinner with Zane and my friends at Zinc on Darby street. I am waiting for my friend Andrew to upload the photos from that night, so I will post them asap. Anyway, it was a great night, and apart from a gorgeous black forest cake with chocolate cream icing, I got some little gifties!

A faux snakeskin notebook & some handmade crocheted doilies from Bron.

The beautiful cake & this gorgeous kokeshi keyring from Lynds, Ben & Ny.

Then Sunday was my actual birthday. My sister & her husband came over for lunch, which was really lovely. And yes, I got some more gifts. Way too spoiled for a woman my age. Millie & Mick bought me 2 bras (not pictured here) a bra wash bag and 2 cute candles that look like country style jam jars.

They smell amazing!

My brother dropped in when I was still asleep that morning, but unfortunately wasn't feeling great, so he left. Things have recently been resolved between him and I, so I was glad he made the effort. He bought me a lovely card & 'The Lost Boys' soundtrack. If he had of been there, I think it would have been the cherry on the cake of a great weekend.

OH.. before I went home, mum gave me a pyrex pie dish (seeing that I baked my last pie in a casserole dish that was a little too deep).

Then last night, after coming home, and all the festivities were over, I cuddled up with my beautiful pup. She's not so little anymore, getting heavier all the time, but I still love to pick her up & carry her around like she's tiny.

I love my family, my friends, my fiance & my pup. I'm a pretty happy girl right now.
