In reference to blanket news.. here is the final product. I hope my sister likes it and keeps it for when she has little ones or even to rug up in winter.
Oh, and here's how I wrapped it up. Brown paper & string is so cheap yet so effective, I love the look of an old-fashioned parcel.
Here are some other creations I devised but I'm not sure who to give them to yet.
And look.. there's some (non-homemade) fudge inside!
Speaking of fudge, I finally ventured to try and make nigella's famous fudge. Instead of her dark chocolate & pisatchio variation, I put my own spin on it with milk chocolate & macadamia nuts. So here's the recipe (my version).
Chocolate macadamia fudge.
350 gms of milk chocolate
400 gms of condensed milk
150 gms of macadamia nuts
2 Tbsp of butter
1. Melt chocolate, condensed milk & butter in a pan.
2. Turn off heat while crushing nuts in a bag with a rolling pin.
3. Add the crushed nuts & mix through
4. Spread equally in a foil pan & allow to cool before covering.
5. Refrigerate until firm & then cut into even pieces. Enjoy!
I have to admit, I had a little blunder with the consistency of the fudge. It looked super easy to make but maybe I did something wrong. I feel a little silly because it's one of nigella's simpler recipes. Oh well, it can only get better from here.
Before I go, I wanted to show you a sweet little package that one of our craft ladies hand-made for our christmas party. She made a whole bunch of them and spread them on the tables for lunch. I don't know how she gets the time!
Perhaps 1 more blog before Christmas, but if I don't get a chance.. merry christmas to all!
