5 days to go..

The Christmas season is in full swing and I finally got my Christmas shopping finished today. Another year and another budget blown, but I'm getting by. Finance-wise, 2010 is going to be a big year, so I need to pull my socks up and get my priorities straight. To get it right in my own head, I will put it in point form:
  • My sister's bridal shower in February
  • TAFE fees for my 2 year course
  • Her wedding in March
  • My car's registration, also in March
  • And then Zane and my wedding in October.
So you can see why I need to be organised and really focus on saving (oh why did I have to be born a woman with a taste for shopping).

Last friday, my craft group, "the sugar sweeties", had our annual Christmas party. It was really lovely. We had all kinds of beautiful food and music, and Leonie's house looked like a shop window decorated for Christmas. My friend Sarahjane (Leonie's daughter) brought her 2 beautiful children, Savannah & Coby. Mum and I bought Savannah a tea set for Christmas, which she played with the whole day.

One of the women organised a 'best-dressed' award and I won it. haha. I had no idea they were doing that, but they gave me this really lovely shampoo as a prize. I wish I took a photo of the outfit, they said I looked like Dorothy from the wizard of oz (probably had to do witht he basket of goodies I was carrying).

On saturday morning, my 2 best friends, their boyfriends and I went out for breakfast to Euro cafe. I have never seen such a beautiful cafe/bakery. The display cabinet was lined with colourful delicious looking cakes, pies and tarts. It reminded me something of a french pattisserie, and of course it smelled incredible. There's something about the smell of a bakery that makes me feel like a child again. There's a wonderful comfort in it.

Anyway, I have been on Nigella's site alot and have made a few friends. The last video I posted of nigella's fudge was so tempting, I'm going to make it this week for Christmas eve. Instead of the dark chocolate pistachio though, I'm going to make milk chocolate and macadamia fudge.

I hope you're all enjoying the holidays and have a lovely Christmas. I will be blogging over the holidays & hope to be in contact with alot of other bloggers in 2010 (as my fiance is my only follower at this time..haha).

Merry Christmas,
