a long date

After a lovely sleep in this morning, Zane and I spent the whole afternoon and evening together. We had milkshakes and pastries, shopped a bit, went to the movies to see The Road, had a beautiful dinner of pizza and pesto chicken pasta (YUM) at Toscani's and then visited Melissa & the kids. It was a great day together. The real point of shopping was to buy this cute little thing that I've seen Nigella use and I had to have it. It's for salt and will look perfect in the kitchen when I move in next week!

I can't go on without saying something about The Road. What an incredible movie. I could not take my eyes off the screen the whole time. And like every other viewer, I'm sure, I was intrigued by the lack of explanation. Of why the apocalypse was happening, why some people chose to be good and others bad. But I loved that I could use my imagination as to why these things happened. I'm pretty much ashamed that I have never picked up Cormac McCarthy's masterpiece. And I call myself an avid reader.

So, tomorrow Millie and I are going to buy flowers for the wedding. It will be lovely to spend some time with my big sister again. Also, my new (antique) hutch is waiting at home for me, so I'm pretty excited to see it! I will take photos and post tomorrow.

Off to bed to read in a sec, so I'll say goodnight now.

ps. Go and see The Road. Trust me, you want to.
