jars of goodness

Hello there. Just a quick visit to say hi and update. Today it is 8 months, 4 weeks and 1 day until Zane and I get married. I am over the moon. All preparations are going well. Today, mum and I, after drinking tea and enjoying custard tarts, looked at some wedding dresses, which I was not totally impressed with. Alot of dresses I have seen in stores and online have all looked the same, like they came off a production line. There seems to be no uniqueness about them. I think alot of girls get swept up in the look of a big, showy dress and don't look back. I have one little bit of advice for you:
  1. Don't give in to whatever the shop assistant says, they are sometimes just looking for a sale and therefore, will cater to your self esteem/ego.
  2. Don't just go for what is the newest in season, pick something timeless that you won't look back on and cringe
  3. And the last bit of advice, the dress is NOT the most important thing here, it's the man at the end of the aisle and the life you will be making with him
Okay, end of lecture. Anyway, tonight, out of sheer boredom, I took a little drive down to kmart (which is open until midnight!) and found the jars I have been searching for for our sweet buffet we have planned for our reception. I paid no more than $30 for 5 jars. All perfect for what I wanted. Thankyou kmart.

Besides that, all I have done today is watch more of my Nigella Express dvd. Obviously, she is very popular, but she has done more for me than just teach me how to cook easily and with passion. She has given me a greater self esteem. I didn't realise that she was such a curvaceous woman when I started getting into her books/tv show. I am a voluptuous woman myself and I love to see a woman like her not only passionate about making her own food, but eating it also. And as my nana used to always say, "Never trust a skinny cook".

Signing off,
lm. x
