crafting with xavier

My day started at 7.30 this morning. Even though it was going to be a pretty free day, my nephew, xavier, was sick.. so I looked after him. I couldn't help but spoil him a bit by taking him for a drive, buying him an icecream, colouring-in and making christmas decorations. He coloured in some paper wreaths and candy canes and hung them on the tree and around the house.

My contribution to the tree & house were bird ornaments out of some fat quarters of red and beige fabric. Also, I bought some small cardboard boxes with lids a while back, so I made some felt cupcakes with coloured beads for sprinkles and put some wrapped fudge inside. (I know a few girls who might appreciate them).

note: I will add some photos of these little creations tomorrow night.

Whilst searching through some lovely blogs tonight, I found some really interesting and tasty sounding ones. Just looking at all of those lovely pictures makes my stomach talk. Through one particular blog I found a link to Nigella Lawson's website and decided to join & add a thread to the forum. I really want to branch out with my cooking, so I thought I'd put my feelers out to gather some advice and recipes (if I can).

ps. here is a recipe I really like the sound of - *peanut butter choc chip cookies*
