better late than never.

Only 2 days left in the year and as much as this month has taken it's toll physically, mentally & not to mention, health wise, 2009 has been a wonderful year.
  • I became engaged to the love of my life
  • My friend, Lyndsey, had a beautiful baby daughter, who I am lucky enough to be a Godmother to, along with Bronwyn
  • I flew for the first time, to Melbourne, with Zane
  • I saw Canberra and snow for the first time
  • I completed my certificate III in library/information studies
  • And, I got my license (finally). I will never forget the moment when I told my dad, his face lit up and he gave me the biggest hug!
Not to mention all of the other wonderful times I had with family and friends. The family dinners, the parties, picnics, cups of tea with Bron, desserts at Lyndsey's and afternoons spent with mum watching old movies. I will no doubt be travelling back to Newcastle when I can to continue such things.

So, in true new year style, I have put together a little list of goals for 2010. I don't feel right finishing a year without having some idea of where I want the next year to go. It also helps me from going insane mid-year.

Goals for 2010:
  • Move in with Zane
  • Do a big spring clean of new place
  • Get accepted into teaching course at TAFE
  • Find a job
  • Get to 75 kilos
  • Organise bridal shower for Millie
  • Save for a new car
  • Save for and organise all elements of wedding
  • Stay on top of all finances
  • Sustain our new craft collective Green Apple
  • Sew, bake and create more.
I don't think that's too much to ask of myself. I'm not sure what it is that refreshes us and gives us a whole new outlook once a new year begins. It doesn't really matter because a break is good for everyone, especially a break that consists of lots of good food and good times. Just before I sign off, I found a lovely quote about the new year.

"New Year's eve is like every other night; there is no pause in the march of the universe, no breathless moment of silence among created things that the passage of another twelve months may be noted; and yet no man has quite the same thoughts this evening that come with the coming of darkness on other nights" ~Hamilton Wright Mabie

I look forward to hearing some other people's goals or 'resolutions' for 2010.

Goodnight,
lm. x

Sounds like it is going to be a busy year for you :o)

My New Year Resolutions are to stop taking life quite so seriously, to learn to meditate and do more yoga!

All the best for 2010 and keep up the great blog!
