count your blessings

A woman I greatly admire, my late nana Ollie, used to say:

"Some things are going wrong, but there's a whole lot going right".

And as always, she was right. I keep thinking I have troubles, that life isn't fair until I look at others problems. It's not that I pity them or think "poor you", but I look at their strength and realise I can get through the difficult times. My main qualm about life at the moment is my struggle to find a job. It's still in the works, but I'm crossing my fingers for something to come up soon!

Anyway, I went to craft today in Newcastle. It was a really relaxed & lovely day. Leonie (whose house we go to for craft) is in Canada at the moment with her husband, but we still used her house. Sounds funny I know, but her daughter, Sarahjane, goes to craft too, so it was fine. Leonie wouldn't mind anyway, she's that kind of person. Not much craft got done today, but it was still a great time. We:
  • Talked about Betty's lovely party last weekend & looked through her photos & some cards she got.
  • Had a nice lunch followed by a cheesecake that Krystal made.
  • Listened to Savannah (Sarahjane's) little girl sing & then I played with her hair
  • And then did some knitting.
My other craft group, 'green apple', has its May meet on Sunday! Definitely a highlight of my month. Besides that, my sister is taking me birthday shopping on Sunday morning. I really need a new bra & will be really happy when I get one.

It's getting late my friends, so goodbye for now.

love, lm.x
