a long weekend.

It's been a long weekend with my dress fitting, shopping with mum, my sister's hens night last night, craft today and then driving back home this afternoon. I was so tired, I had to pull over on the side of the freeway because I thought I was going to fall asleep.

It's good advice!

The hen's night was really fun. We all wore wigs, my sister looked like Mia from Pulp fiction. I will tell you more about the night when I post some photos, but the best thing about the it all was that I made some new friends. Haylie, Gayle & Rhiannon. All my sisters friends, and all gorgeous women.

Anyway, even though Zane and I have, in the past, bought each other cards and gone out for dinner, etc. on Valentines day, today was pretty normal. I was away at my parents for one thing. But when I came home, he had bought me a card. It was a really sweet surprise. He even had dinner started (cooked the chicken and boiled the water for the pasta). We made my favourite dish to cook, pasta bake. And here it is.

Before.

After.

Me enjoying the finished product.

After dinner we ate ice cream and watched some of "The Crush" with Cary Elwes & Alicia Silverstone. Truth be told, I have a guilty pleasure of enjoying 'fatal attraction' type movies, yes, including Fatal Attraction itself. ha. Personally, I don't know how anyone could be attracted to Glenn Close.

I'm pretty tired at the moment, but before I go, here's a few bits & pieces to finish:
  • I love cold showers, especially in this heat
  • I'm still reading 'On Beauty' by Zadie Smith..a bit slow
  • My sisters wedding is in less than 3 weeks
  • My best friend is staying over on Wednesday night..very excited
  • I want to find a local amateur theater company to join.
There we have it loves. I'm off to read more of that book. Some of the language in it is overly intellectual and I think sometimes that she does it on purpose. To be honest, it's a bit pompous.

Okay, bed time!
Goodnight,

I love this post!! It sounds like you had a really fun time and also have lots of fun stuff to look forward to.

My guilty pleasure movies seem to be of the "odd person out/underdog finds a way to succeed" variety. I.E., "Where the Heart Is," or "Center Stage." I don't think I could watch them with B. in the house, because he'd just make fun of them/me endlessly!
